Concrete Sealant Reduces Dust Contamination For MPC Systems

Concrete sealants in action

The UltraSyntec team has just completed a significant concrete sealant application for existing customer MPC Systems based in Chesterfield, South Yorkshire. MPC Systems specialises in industrial fitouts, including mezzanine floors, suspended ceilings, office partitioning, racking and shelving, providing a full turnkey service covering electrical works and extras such as air conditioning and conveyors.

The company approached UltraSyntec for a flooring solution for a warehouse at Dove Valley Park, Foston, Derbyshire, where the prevention of dust contamination was an important operational requirement. The team visited the location to assess the environment and operational requirements and provided a comprehensive product and application using Sika ProSeal concrete sealant.

Developed to cure, harden and seal concrete surfaces, Sika ProSeal effectively limits drying and cracking in concrete, improving resistance to abrasion and providing anti-dusting properties. Suitable for interior and exterior applications, the product cures and seals concrete surfaces in one single application.

Speed and efficiency 

The UltraSyntec team can usually offer fast lead times for the application of concrete sealants. Within two weeks of the survey, our teams were on site applying the sealant. For MPC Systems, the project was complicated by other trades working on site at the same time, but despite this, we successfully sealed a floor area in excess of 7,500m² in just two weeks, creating an excellent aesthetic bringing together anti-dusting and durability as required.

The customer has completed a site visit and inspection and is very happy with the properties that the concrete sealant has brought to this floor. The UltraSyntec team will return to the site in the New Year to complete some final areas of sealant and apply epoxy coatings as required in specific areas.
