Upgrading Facilities: Workshop Line Marking/Demarcation for Brook Miller in Elland

Late in 2025, UltraSyntec was approached by Adrian Westbrook, the owner of Brook Miller Mobility in Elland, West Yorkshire. Established for almost three decades, Brook Miller Mobility is a leading provider of specialist vehicles and solutions for a wide range of mobility issues, designed to improve accessibility and mobility for people living with disabilities. Their modern, extensive premises are just a short distance from the UltraSyntec site.

With a focus on customer service and professionalism, Brook Miller was looking to improve the overall aesthetic of their vehicle workshops whilst also protecting the concrete substrate flooring. UltraSyntec’s Sales Director Will Hoyle responded swiftly to the enquiry, arranging a site visit to inspect the area and ascertain the exact requirements and challenges of the job.

Following the visit, a detailed quotation for the required work was submitted and immediately accepted by Adrian, along with a request to schedule the project in the order book as soon as possible.

A challenging project schedule

The Brook Miller Mobility site operates daily and also most weekends, so the UltraSyntec team had to plan carefully when the works could take place. With a busy work schedule in place in the workshops, weekdays were out of the question. It was essential that the site could continue to operate as normal, with potential for weekend working restricted to just a few windows during the coming months.

Matching operational requirements

With a suitable weekend date booked in the calendar, UltraSyntec prepared to mobilise for the project. Work began in the first workshop, completing half of the floor area at a time so the client’s extensive range of equipment could be moved and stored quickly and easily in the other half.

The first stage of work involved preparing the floors using a diamond grinding machine to provide the necessary mechanical key for applying fresh resin. Once preparation activities were completed, the team applied two coats of KDR Resin Systems’ EpoCoat HB high-build epoxy coating across 400m² of workshops and valet bays.

EpoCoat HB has been proven to provide both protective and decorative properties for substrates such as concrete and steel. Advantages include fast application times, which make it ideal for use in areas where downtime is an issue, as well as achieving a hygienic, easy-clean and seamless finish with good levels of chemical resistance.

Adding demarcation for safety and efficiency

Once the flooring work was complete and the site back in commission, Adrian discussed the benefits of installing clear demarcation lines to complete the project. UltraSyntec’s site supervisor advised on the process and the potential advantages.

These included increased guidance and, therefore, safety for pedestrians and assets moving around the site; clear indication of storage areas to improve on-site organisation; and an improved aesthetic for the workshop areas.

With this advice in mind, Adrian placed a further order with UltraSyntec for line marking and demarcation services to complete the work discussed. The demarcations were subsequently agreed upon from an organisational point of view, taped out by the team and installed using contrasting colours of KDR Resin Systems’ EpoCoat HB.

For UltraSyntec, it was a great pleasure to support a local and well-respected business located less than a mile from the company’s operating base. The required works were completed in full over four weekends between January and July 2026.
