The Ultrasyntec team has recently completed a decorative flooring finish using a unique system at a new transportation hub in Lancashire, providing an optimum finish in terms of performance and aesthetics.
We were given the following requirements by the client:
- Decorative two tone finish
- Anti-slip
- UV stable
- Hardwearing
To match these challenges, Ultrasyntec developed a decorative resin screed using coloured quartz broadcast, with two final seal coats of UV stable, scratch resistant, aliphatic coating.
A challenging physical layout
The area consisted of a single large room, where members of the public left their mode of transport via various doors. Although the total floor area was 250m2, there were no less than 47 individual internal and external corners, at varying angles, due to the unique layout of this facility.
Within the floor, two colours were required to highlight the main walkway from the double door entrance, which was staggered within its layout.
Achieving the optimum finish
Extreme attention to detail from the initial setting out phase to working to the unusual perimeter edge was required to ensure an aesthetically pleasing finish within this asymmetric room.
Works were completed on time and within budget for the client, who is now benefiting from a durable and decorative floor finish that will last for many years to come.
