Weir Minerals of Todmorden Opt For Sustainable Workshop Floor

We undertook a recent job for Weir Minerals based in Todmorden. The brief was to create a new sustainable floor for the inspection area of the main workshop.

Due to shift work in the workshop UltraSyntec Ltd had to work around their busy schedule, starting the job late on a Friday afternoon.

The first task was to remove all of the old oil impregnated floor paint that was in situ by diamond grinding. Once ground the floor could then be coated with an oil retardant primer then left to cure overnight. Early on the Saturday morning UltraSyntec Ltd laid a 4mm Polyurethane Self Smoothing System in a dark grey finish. This was also left to cure overnight. On the Sunday a High Build Epoxy Floor Coating was installed using various colours as demarcations for the individual work areas.
